Golden Chain The members of Golden Chain care about your comfort and are committed to quality assurance.  In order for a property to be a member of the Golden Chain group they must undergo an in-depth review by Qualmark, New Zealand's official tourism industry quality assurance agency.

Golden Chain motels are visited each year by independent, professionally-trained assessors who ensure minimum customer requirements are met and who determine a star grade based on a detailed analysis of the establishment.

The Qualmark Self Contained & Serviced system operates on a 1-5 Star scale as follows:

Acceptable. Meets customers' minimum requirements.  Basic, clean and comfortable accommodation.

**+		 Good. Exceeds customers' minimum requirements with some additional facilities and services.

***+		 Very Good.  Provides a range of facilities and services and achieves good to very good quality standards.

****+		 Excellent.  Consistently achieves high quality levels with a wide range of facilities and services.
***** Exceptional.  Among the best available in New Zealand.
 
Within each star grading, those offereing a better range and quality of facilities and services are recognised with a "+".
